New PA system sounds great

The long-standing PA system at the TerraPura ground has been replaced by new kit installed by Accord AV, a specialist outdoor sound and vision company based in Heathfield, East Sussex. The cost of the up-grade was made possible by funds raised by Hawks fans during the first lockdown.

The club is very grateful to Ian Goatcher (pictured), founder of Accord AV, for the discounted installation, which took a day and a half’s work to wire in five speakers and a new amplifier. Chairman Andy Schofield said: “The quality of the music coming out of the new speakers is remarkable. The old tinny sound gave the ground a bit of character, but it was definitely due a serious up-grade.”

Commercial Manager Kevin Miller, who planned the deal with Accord AV thanked Ian Goatcher for his support: “These are difficult times for businesses, especially in the events industry but Accord AV were determined to help the club and were very generous in their pricing.”

The new PA system also enhances safety, which is especially important during the current pandemic, as announcements can be heard more clearly across the ground. The system is set up so that music automatically fades down when a mike is being used, which will save numerous match day headaches.
