RESULT | HAWKS 1 POTTERS BAR TOWN 1
Whitehawk hosted Potters Bar Town at the McLaren Enclosed Ground on a sunny afternoon in the final fixture of the Isthmian Premier League season, which also marked club captain Rob O’Toole’s final appearance for the club.
The Hawks entered the contest seeking their first victory in twelve matches, while the visitors arrived with just one win in their previous nine outings.
Whitehawk made a positive start and took the lead in the 14th minute. A low-driven cross to the back post found O’Toole, who calmly tapped home to give the hosts the advantage in his farewell match.
The home side nearly doubled their lead shortly afterwards when Nathan Cooper struck a volley from the edge of the area, only to see his effort crash against the post.
An early setback followed in the 35th minute as George Gitau was forced off through injury, with Jude Robertson introduced in his place.
After a relatively quiet remainder of the first half, the visitors threatened early in the second period. Just before the hour mark, goalkeeper Dion-Curtis Henry produced an excellent save to preserve Whitehawk’s lead.
However, Potters Bar Town found their equaliser in the 66th minute. Damaray Anyadike finished confidently after meeting a well-delivered cross into the box.
Harry was called into action again late on, making a crucial save to ensure the scores remained level.
The match ultimately ended in a 1–1 draw.
