Return to Football Update – Monday 23rd November
This afternoon (23rd November), British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed that from December 2nd outdoor sport in England can resume and, in addition, that spectators will be allowed at grounds in limited numbers depending on what “tier” the club is located in. The tier restrictions are as follows –
- Tier One – A maximum of 50% occupancy or 4,000 – which ever is lower
- Tier Two – A maximum of 50% occupancy or 2,000 – which ever is lower
- Tier Three – No fans allowed
The UK Government are due to announce which tier an area will be in on Thursday 26th November. At present we cannot say what the impact on the club will be, especially since our league covers a large area, and we await this announcement along with further information from the FA and Isthmian League.
Last week, the Isthmian League advised fixtures will resume on Saturday 19th December. This means that tentatively we expect our first game after the enforced break to be our home league fixture against Sittingbourne on the 19th, though of course this is subject to alteration. We can also advise that away fixtures against Cray Valley PM (December 5th) and Ramsgate (December 12th) are postponed and will be rescheduled.
It goes without saying that all at the club are looking forward to the resumption of the 20/21 season and we also look forward to safely welcoming fans back to The TerraPura Ground.

A welcome piece of news, that we can try and get back to normality, also great for people who rely on local sport for their entertainment and mental wellbeing
