Hawks sign forward Rob O’Toole
Shaun Saunders has moved quickly to bolster his new Whitehawk squad with the acquisition of Horsham forward Rob O’Toole.
O’Toole, 31, has been with Horsham since 2017 (with the brief exception of a short spell at Saltdean United), where he earned himself the joint Player of the Season award in the year after.
A league title winner with Peacehaven & Telscombe, East Preston, Burgess Hill Town and Haywards Heath Town, O’Toole brings a wealth of experience and goalscoring ability to The Enclosed Ground ahead of Saunders’ first full campaign in charge of the Hawks.
Saunders reunites with O’Toole after the forward enjoyed a prolific 2015/16 campaign with Haywards Heath, helping them to seal the Southern Combination Football League Division 1 title.
It was his fourth league title win in as many years, and the frontman was an influential component to Horsham’s most recent promotion.
The forward has been a constant feature for The Hornets in the recently completed season as he helped secure the Isthmian League – Premier outfit a respectable 11th position in their first full year in the division.
