Whitehawk U13 League Win
It has been a truly remarkable season for Whitehawk FC Under-13s, who officially secured their league title on Sunday.
Played in blistery conditions, Whitehawk blew their opponents away to secure an emphatic 7-1 win. They’ve been in fine form this season securing their title with 3 games to spare and no losses. One notable result was a thrilling 3-2 win against Shoreham who finished second in their league last year. Speaking before the game, the teams manager Matt Weston highlighted the the bigger picture behind their success:
“The vision for the youth programme is long-term: to develop players from the Whitehawk estate and the city into the first team. And that’s what we have here, a team of local lads developing fast and winning along the way”
Their attention now turns to the chance of a memorable double. Whitehawk Under-13s will face Cuckfield FC in their League Cup Final, kicking off at 10am at Peacehaven FC on Sunday 26th April. Best of luck to Matt, assistant manager Dave Hughes and the team!
