FA Announce Return to Football
The FA have today (Saturday 18th July) confirmed that last night, the UK Government have approved their plan for the competitive return for outdoor football.
The full guidance from the FA is available HERE, but the key points affecting the Hawks are:
- Competitive training can begin immediately in groups of up to 30 (inclusive of coaches)
- Competitive matches (IE Friendlies) can be played from 1st August onwards
- National Game System can commence league fixtures in September
The club are reviewing the advice provided today by the FA and establishing how we will be moving forward. Pre-Season Friendlies are in the process of being arranged however it cannot be confirmed at this time whether of not these would have to be played behind closed doors.
In regards to competitive league ans cup matches, it has been confirmed that the Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round will take place on Saturday 12th September. Isthmian League Steps 3 and 4 look to have a start date of Saturday 19th September, however this is subject to confirmation.
Manager Jude Macdonald alongside Coaches Jonny Elwood and John Paul Kissock are continuing to press ahead with preparations for the new season and in addition, we hope to be in a position to announce signings shortly.
