RESULT | CARSHALTON ATHLETIC 2 WHITEHAWK 2

Charlie Lambert fired in a left foot finish in the 96th minute to earn the Hawks an unlikely point in South London last night, in a match that was over shadowed by a serious knee injury to Hawks winger Luke Robinson. Hawks boss Shaun Saunders gave first starts to returning loanee Joe Tennent and centre forward Reece Grant. Jamie Watson also made his debut as a first half replacement for the injured Robinson.

The home side had been in control of the game after a spectacular long range shot from Nabeel Ghannam had given them a 4th minute lead, with the Hawks looking a shadow of their former selves for long periods of the first half. Mason Saunders Henry added a second at the start of the second with a classy finish following a corner on the right.

With time running out sub Harry Bridle was fouled in the box and Andrew Briggs calmly stroked in the penalty with six minutes of normal time remaining. Bridle then set Lambert free deep onto injury time and his well struck rising shot beat Foley’s despairing dive to earn the Hawks a share of the spoils.
