Whitehawk FC announce, The ‘Priceless Ticket’ – A Stand Against Soaring Football Costs – For Non-League Day This Saturday.
A collective of Hawks’ creatives have joined forces to support Whitehawk FC’s Non-League Day campaign, shining a light on the importance of affordable, community-driven football.
In a time when ticket prices at the highest levels of the game continue to rise, this initiative celebrates non-league football’s accessibility, passion, and purity. Bringing together visual art, poetry, and photography, the campaign highlights Whitehawk FC’s commitment to football for all.
At the heart of the campaign is, ‘The Priceless Ticket’, a special one-of-a-kind souvenir matchday ticket designed by Turner Prize-nominated artist and Brighton local, David Shrigley. Created using a traditional screen-printing process, each ticket is a unique piece of art which aims to add value to every fans’ experience, giving them a physical keepsake in return for their support of Whitehawk’s Non-League Day fixture against Carshalton Athletic on Saturday 22nd March 2025.

Poet David Attree, Whitehawk FC’s newly appointed Poet Laureate, has written a love letter to non-league football and the spirit of Whitehawk, capturing the club’s unique atmosphere and inclusivity.
“There is something truly brilliant that I see every game, from the fans to the players to the board, regardless of the score, those who some think may have less. Always, always give more. Food Bank donations, charities, rattling a bucket to find coins or a note and chuck it in a pot to help people you’ll never meet.”
His words will feature alongside classic Whitehawk pictures by acclaimed Brighton photographer JJ Waller, whose images showcase the raw essence and passion of grassroots football.
Whitehawk FC Co-Chairman, John Summers, said: “Each ticket will serve as a physical reminder of what football at Whitehawk truly represents: football for all. Unlike the exorbitant matchday prices at top-flight clubs, we remain committed to affordable football, ensuring that fans from all backgrounds can enjoy the sport without financial barriers.”
Head of Commercial and Marketing at Whitehawk FC, Kevin Miller, added:“We are thrilled to work with such brilliant creative minds and real Whitehawk fans on this project. But this isn’t just about art. It’s about football remaining rooted in its community. We hope this campaign sparks a wider conversation about the cost of the game and the role non-league clubs play in preserving its soul.”
Whitehawk will also be welcoming a member of football royalty to the Enclosed Ground on Saturday, as Partick Thistle’s mascot, Kingsley (below), makes a special appearance. Designed by David Shrigley in 2015 and described as a “demented sun-god of Scotland,” Kingsley has become one of the most recognisable mascots in football.

On the day the club will be asking fans for food donations for the Whitehawk Foodbank, and there will be stands and stalls from Stand Up to Racism, Prostate Cancer, East Brighton Food Co-op, and the East and Central Brighton Primary Care Network
Non-League Day, an annual event encouraging fans to support their local grassroots clubs during an international break, provides the perfect platform for this initiative. Whitehawk FC invites football lovers, art enthusiasts, and anyone who believes in keeping the game accessible to join them at The Enclosed Ground on 22nd March 2025 (KO 3pm) for the visit of Carshalton Athletic F.C and own a piece of history with The Priceless Ticket.
