Pre-season kicks off at the Enclosed Ground

There was a minute’s applause in memory of Hawks’ former keeper Richard Corrigan before today’s pre-season early kick off against Hassocks.

The match finished 2-2, with Chris Whelpdale getting both the Hawks’ goals in front of a crowd of 114.

Manager Ross McNeilly played two different outfield sides in each half, with a number of new signings and trialists featuring. New keeper Zaki Oualah being the only player to feature for the full ninety minutes.

Hawks’ fans got their first sight of a number of new summer signings, including defenders Will Seager, Sam Bull and Harry Hoath, Manny Mensah as well as Whelpdale in midfield and forward Moe Shubbar. Charlie Lambert and Harry Shooman were the first half full back partnership, with Imran Kayani played his first football since returning from World Cup duty with the Pakistan national team.
