PLEDGEBALL ARE BACK THIS SATURDAY!

And giving you a chance to WIN BIG!

Saturday’s game against Chichester City is a Pledgeball fixture, which means a chance for Hawks fans to win A Classic 2022/23 Hawks Match poster signed by the First Team, AND a Pledgeball shirt signed by a clutch of BT Sport Pundits, including Robbie Savage, Jules Breach and Akinfenwa.

Pledgeball is a charity, started by fans, run by fans that rallies fans to take a stand on environmental sustainability. It is a charity close to our heart at Whitehawk, as we were the first club to launch with Pledgeball in September 2020.

Since its beginnings with the Hawks:
April 2021 Pledgeball launch with their first professional club, Bristol City

May 2022: Bristol City win the Pledgeball League 21/22
More and more clubs support Pledgeball
February 2023: Pledgeball organise Green Football Weekend, which see fans of over

100 clubs pledging to take action
February 2023 article by Hawks Ultras Mark Doidge and Jenny Amann on the research conducted with Whitehawk and Pledgeball is published in the journal Sociology.

So far, fans have pledged to save over 19,883,719kg of CO2e per year, the same as taking over 4,300 cars off the road

Read on to find out how you can be in with a chance to WIN A signed Match poster and a signed Pledgeball shirt.

So what is a Pledgeball fixture and how can I get involved?

Pledgeball gives football fans the platform to take a stand on sustainability. Fans can show support for their team by making a pledge to cut down their carbon emissions and help their club climb the Pledgeball League Table. The idea is simple: the group of fans who have pledged to save the most carbon emissions by midnight on matchday will see their club at the top of the Pledgeball League.

Making a pledge is easy and automatically enters you into the club’s prize draw to win a signed shirt, a matchday experience and a hospitality ticket.

To make your pledge, enter the draw and see the impact Hawks fans are making!

The more fixtures you pledge for this season, the more times you’re entered into the draw.

Where can we make it to in the Pledgeball League this weekend? Hawks fans have potential to make a change:

  • Hawks Twitter followers simply switching off sleeping appliances saves the same amount of emissions as taking over 70 cars off the road
  • Hawks followers simply cutting their dairy consumption in half saves the same amount of emissions as taking over 290 cars off the road

The impact you can have by carrying out your pledge not only reduces emissions, but stretches beyond just your own action through the influence it has on friends, family and beyond.

Katie Cross, Founder of Pledgeball, said: “I cannot wait to return to the Enclosed. Whitehawk is very special to us at Pledgeball, as the club that pioneered our work and started it rolling!”

She Added, “I cannot believe the traction this has gained since we launched with Whitehawk back in 2020 and I am so grateful to the wonderful club and fans who showed us so much support right from the start. See you at the Enclosed!”

For the Club, Head of Commercial & Marketing Kevin Miller said,

“We are very proud to be the first Football club in the Country to sign up to the Pledgeball campaign, and it’s great to see Katie and her team back at The Enclosed!”

He added, “As a community focussed football club we have to be at the centre of all that our community believes in, aspires to and cherishes, and using the beautiful game as a way of harnessing greater awareness of our environment has proven to be a real success! Get pledging, and let’s save the environment together!”
