Match Preview | Cheshunt (H)

Whitehawk return to league action on Saturday afternoon as they welcome Cheshunt to The Enclosed Ground.

With the aftermath of Storm Ciaran expected to sweep across Sussex overnight, here’s hoping the sun pushes through ahead of tomorrow’s clash with ‘The Ambers’.

The Hawks managed to escape the worst of the conditions on Wednesday evening, as a 4-0 win at Kingstonian confirmed an FA Trophy tie with Lewes on 18 November.

The Opposition

Perched just outside one of the uppermost regions of the M25, Cheshunt swing down to the seaside on Saturday in need of a response following a rather slow start to the season.

Sat in 17th one point shy of the relegation zone, manager Craig Edwards would have expected a better response to last campaign’s drop from National League South, with his side without in a win in four matches.

There’s plenty of time to right the wrongs, but with the league’s third worst record in front of goal, there needs to be an offensive spark sharpish if they are to fight for a place in the league above.

One to Watch | Nnamdi Nwachuku: A prolific goalscorer who joined the Ambers in September, Nwachuku started his career at Colchester United. The forward topped 100 goals in 100 appearances for Coggeshall Town, recorded 26 in 37 for Marlow Town and last season hit 49 to help AFC Sudbury to promotion.

Nnamdi started this season with Braintree Town but signed for the Ambers in late August, and has netted four times thus far, including a hat-trick in a 3-1 victory over Bognor Regis Town.
