Hawks Bring In Defender
Ahead of the run-in, the Hawks have added a defensive reinforcement in the form of Lewes defender Stacey Freeman.
Stacey, son of Hawks legend Darren Freeman, has featured 16 times this season for the Rooks in all competitions and featured 39 times for them in the 18/19 season, including in both games against the Hawks, after missing the entire 17/18 season through injury.
He has played for the Hawks previously, but has since featured for fellow Sussex sides Peacehaven & Telscombe, Worthing and Eastbourne Borough.
Following the signing, Hawks boss Jude Macdonald said
“Coming to this stage of the season, it’s crucial that we make sure we are conceding as few goals as possible.
Stacey comes with pedigree from the division above with Lewes (only 6 sides conceded fewer goals in the Premier division last season) and we believe he’ll help to get us to finish as high as possible.
He played 90 minutes for Lewes Wednesday night so Saturday may come too soon for him to start, but we really pleased to get him signed and ready for the run in.
