Hawks add pace with Charlie Lambert

The Hawks have added pacey forward Charlie Lambert, 21, from National League South Eastbourne Borough to the squad. Charley joins on joint registration.

“We are grateful to the Sports’ manager Danny Bloor for agreeing to the deal,” said Ross Standen. “We don’t know how long he’ll be with us, but this will allow him to get some game time. Charlie is a very direct, hard-working centre forward or right winger. He will add flexibility to our attack which has suffered since Charlie Coppola and Ronnie Conlon have been out with injuries. We’re delighted to have him on board to help in our quest to move up the league.”

After joining the lads for training this week, Charlie, who is itching to get some minutes on the pitch said: “I’m buzzing to get going and looking forward to playing for this fantastic club.”

Other news is that Callum Edwards has returned to County League football after a change of personal circumstances. Callum acquitted himself very well on his debut at left back in the opening game of the season at Cray Valley PM and also scored our fourth goal at Littlehampton Town in the FA Cup. After nine first team appearances, the club would like to thank Callum for his contribution and wish him well. Who knows, we might see him back in a Hawks shirt once more in the future
