Isthmian League

RESULT | U18 WHITEHAWK 0 HORSHAM YMCA 0

Hawks had the better of a frustrating stalemate against a very committed YM, who have the best defensive record in the league. Danny Kingston had the best chance of the first half, but the normally reliable marksman shot over the bar at the Din end. Weber also went close to converting a Kingston free kick at the far post. In the second half, with Yumkella and Duckett dominating the midfield, plus Silva and Reeder working well together upfront, the Hawks had plenty of creative approach play, but couldn’t quite find a finish to match. Tom Gilbert was outstanding at left back and Hawks gave a debut to Nas Balmer on the right wing. Three points would have sent the Hawks joint top, but a point means they remain third, one place above today’s opponents.
