Recap
Whitehawk 4-0 Pagham
Whitehawk progressed to the next round of the Sussex Senior Cup after a routine 4-0 win at Home against SCFL Premier Division side Pagham.
The Lions started the game brightly by getting into good positions and challenging the Hawks defenders with Joe Clarke coming closest after 14 minutes. The Hawks started growing into the game after 25 minutes with Rob Deda having a brace of chances. Controversy occurred after 29 minutes with the Hawks having a clear penalty appeal turned down after defender Matias Torres had his shot from just inside the penalty area blocked on the line by the outstretched arm of Pagham captain Jordan Clark on the goal line, however the officials were unmoved. They were, however, moved to give a penalty 8 minutes later as Clarke brought down Deda inside the penalty area, allowing Connor Tighe to step up and open the scoring after a calm finish from the spot. Two minutes before the break the lead was doubled after Duane Ofori-Acheampong slotted home after a well struck cross from the near side by Fintan Walsh.
Much like the first half, Pagham started brightest in the second with The Lions coming out and having great chances to get back into the game, the best of which came after Seamus Tilley did well on the near side to get round the Hawks defence and find an incoming Tom Chlaye, but the forward somehow blasted well over from 2 yards out. The missed chances hurt Pagham as 11 minutes into the second half it was 3-0 with Connor Tighe being gifted the ball by the defence and he calmly beat young keeper Toby Bull to get his second of the night. The game was as good as over after 62 minutes with Ofori-Acheampong scoring from a Rob Deda cross, sealing a 4-0 victory and a 4th straight win for the Hawks.
