As we potentially look to welcome the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex this weekend, we will sadly be bidding farewell to the King of Sussex.

Brought in mid-season with the task of saving the Hawks from almost certain relegation, King changed almost the entire squad and staged a fantastic comeback second half of the season. Unfortunately Hawks fell at the last hurdle, confirming Hawks relegation to the Bostik Premier League.

Following the relegation King has been in discussion with the Whitehawk board, and has mutually agreed to leave Whitehawk with immediate effect.

Steve King has earned himself legendary status with the Hawks following two spells in charge and departs the club as the most successful manager in Whitehawk history.

Whitehawk would like to wish the club legend all the best in his future endeavours.

Stepping up to the role following 5 successful years as manager of the Whitehawk under 18 team, will be Jude Macdonald.

Macdonald has done a tremendous job winning back-to-back titles with the youth team and created one of the strongest youth squads in the South East of England. Macdonald stated “this is a massive opportunity to take over a club like Whitehawk. Having been with the club for 5 years, to be involved with the first team is a huge opportunity and a big challenge lies ahead. I’m looking forward to leading the club as it heads in a new direction and am looking forward to getting started.”
