Hawks: Duckett 12′ 49′ 56′, O’Neil 68′, Silva 87′
A stunning Jack Duckett hat-trick saw the Young Hawks eventually overwhelm the Rooks, having led by a single goal at the interval. Elliott Dailly’s first half penalty save proved to be a turning point. The second half showing was emphatic, with some excellent passing football played on a near perfect Dripping Pan surface.
Duckett curled in his first from outside the box, before a superb free kick just after the interval put the Hawks two up. Duckett’s hat trick was completed as he converted a Toby Reeder cross. Luke O’Neil drilled in the Hawks fourth on his birthday, before Tom Gilbert’s cross was headed in by Ric Silva close to the end.
The Young Hawks remain third in the table, two points behind leaders Worthing, who hit previous table toppers Three Bridges for 8 at Jubilee Field.
The Young Hawks move on to a County Cup semi-final at Hassocks on Sunday, before a home game against Burgess Hill Town the following day.
