Whitehawk 1-1 Brightlingsea Regent
Bostik Premier League – Game 11
Brightlingsea Regent snatched a last minute point at Whitehawk, courtesy of a Billy Hunt penalty.
The Hawks started brightly with Jason Williams hitting the post in the 4th minute, and again testing Bradbrook from distance with a fine free kick.
Williams again was causing trouble for the Brightlingsea Regent back line as this time he got down to the bi-line before delivering a low cross. Bradbrook could only palm away the ball, unfortunately for him, straight into the path of Ky Marsh-Brown who smashed home from close range to give the Hawks a deserved lead.
Hawks captain, Henry Muggeridge, thought he had doubled the lead in the 54th minute as he ran onto a ball from Williams but was adjudged to be narrowly offside.
Chances fell to both teams in the final half hour, with Clowsley coming closest as his close range effort was well saved by Melvin Minter.
Four minutes into the six added, Brightlingsea Regent delivered a long ball into the Hawks penalty area, Minter and Hunt challenged in the air but neither came out with the ball, that fell to Clowsley who was brought down before getting his shot away, for a 94th minute penalty.
Hunt made no mistake in sending Minter the wrong way to snatch a point for the Regent.
