Adam joined the Hawks in August 2020 after a career spanning over 400 football league appearances, the majority of which were for Brighton & Hove Albion. He was the Seagulls player of the year in their 2011 League 1 title winning campaign.

Adam has 7 caps for the Egyptian national side, qualifying through his father. His younger brother Sami was a member of the Hawks title winning teams of 2012 and 2013. His younger brother Joe played professional rugby union.

Adam has an UEFA A license and helped coach the Hawks U18 team in 2018-19.
