Management change

Whitehawk FC have tonight relieved manager Ross Standen of his duties as first team manager. Stuart Tuck and Tony Coade are also leaving the club.

Shaun Saunders, most recently the manager of Haywards Heath Town, has taken over and will take training on Tuesday ahead of Saturday’s crunch game with Hythe Town. Shaun said, “I’m really excited to be involved and can’t wait to get started.”

Chairman Andy Schofield said, “Saturday’s performance at Whistable made it clear to us that something had to change. We have tried to stick with Ross through what has been a very disappointing season, but despite some diabolical luck with injuries, we didn’t think we’d be struggling at the wrong end of the table. Ross and Tucky are club legends, so it is with genuine sadness that we have decided to part company with them.”

The club would like to put on record their thanks to Ross, Tucky and Codge for their dedication during a difficult season.
