Always good to see the gents from Dulwich Hamlet – this time for a friendly match.
A few more trialist to ponder over, another chance to see the quality signings that have been made so far and, or course, more minutes into the legs.
Here’s who was there for Whitehawk …
Whitehawk FC: Lance Cronin, Osei Sankofa, Lee Hills, Sam Deering, Anthony Charles, Paul Lorraine (c), Sergio Torres, Ahmed Abdulla, Danny Mills, Jake Robinson, Albert Jarrett, Sub: Pa Saikou Kujabi, Tom Cadmore, Steve Robinson, Jonathan Smith, Jordi Corput (gk) …. and sat in the stand … almost fit to play again: Sam Gargan, Frantz Tchonang, Serge Makofo
Things sprung to life in the 5th minute with a free kick, a little way outside the Dulwich penalty area (on the angle) and Albert Jarrett (who has played for Brighton & Hove Albion and has Football League heritage) struck it straight into the roof of the Dulwich net – for 1-0. Jarrett also managed to work in a great cross, some minutes later, that just evaded the onrushing Danny Mills.
On 22 minutes Captain Paul Lorraine knocked a deep corner invitingly back across goal which Danny Mills sent marginally and wide – that might have been decisive – then, guess what – Dulwich went straight up the other end and ……. nearly scored. Laurent Hamici and Jordan Hibbert were only stopped by a Whitehawk goalpost. HT 1-0
Pa Saikou Kujabi joined the game in the second half along with Tom Cadmore, 2 trialists and keeper Jordi Corupt. Pa showing, with every touch, what a quality player he is.
On 78 minutes Mills flicked on a long cross – across field, for the advancing Jake Robinson the connect, first touch, and strike a goal of the highest quality from 25 yards.
Jake’s strike didn’t stop the Man of The Match award going to Osei Sankofa – who played at right back today, and put on a consumate display.
