Dan Thompson joins: only one Splatt left

The Hawks have signed striker Dan Thompson, 28,  from Isthmian Premier League Margate. Dan scored seven goals for the Gate this season, including two in injury time to seal a win at Bowers & Pitsea at the start of the month. He has made ten starts this season, with a further ten appearances from the bench.

Dan was a youth player at Hampton & Richmond Borough before a spell as a professional at Portsmouth, making one appearance in the Pompey first team. Much traveled since then, he has had four further spells at Hampton & Richmond and also found time to play for Kingstonian, Dulwich Hamlet, Tonbridge Angels, Bognor Regis Town and Burgess Hill Town, as well as Braintree Town, where he played the full 90 minutes in the game that saw the Hawks relegated from National League South in April 2018. He started last season at East Grinstead Town before joining Margate at the start of this season.

In other squad news, Jamie Splatt has had his loan spell to the Hawks cut short by Dulwich Hamlet, who have a found themselves short of first team players. Jamie is currently serving a three match ban after his red card against Three Bridges.

Charlie Coppola, who has yet to make his first team debut for the Hawks, will shortly be returning to light training after his ankle injury in pre-season, and should be available for selection in March. Ronnie Conlon, who damaged his cruciate ligaments in August, has now had his knee operation and is likely to be out of action until January 2023.
