Club Statement – Step 3/4 Season Pause

This evening, Thursday 3rd December, the Isthmian, Northern and Southern Leagues have issued a joint statement advising that the current pause of Steps 3 and 4 of the National League system will continue due to “the reintroduction of Tiers after the raising of the nationwide lockdown with effect from yesterday.” All 224 clubs that play at these levels were asked to vote to pause the season or continue and the leagues advise that a “substantial number of clubs” voted to continue the pause.

We can confirm that as a club we voted to continue with the season as our circumstances would have allowed us to, however we accept that not all sides are in a position to do this and we very much sympathise and appreciate their current positions, especially for clubs within Tier 3 areas. We hope that all sides can return to competitive league football in the near future.

Going forward, our Pitching In Isthmian League South East fixtures until at least early January will be postponed and will be rearranged. As we find ourselves within a Tier 2 area and are able to play games, we plan to play a number of Friendly fixtures against other sides within our area, starting this Saturday 5th December where we will make the short trip to Peacehaven & Telscombe for a 1pm kickoff. We expect further friendlies to be arranged and information will be provided when this is the case.
