Whitehawk FC can today (Friday 9th September) confirm that we have parted company with Manager Pablo Asensio. Chief Scout Helder Silva has also left The Hawks.

Hawks President Chris Gargan said “We thank Pablo for his services during his short tenure but the direction we were going in has not quite worked out with one win in the first eight games.”

Pablo took charge of The Hawks during the Spring of 2016 and led The Hawks from the edge of relegation to the play-offs, where we were narrowly defeated on penalties in the semi-finals. However, this decision has been taken following a concerning start to the 16/17 season which currently sees The Hawks sitting in the relegation zone after just 1 win from 8 games. We thank both Pablo and Helder for their services to the club and wish them the best of luck in the future.

Replacing Pablo as Manager will be the experienced Richard Hill. Richard was most recently at National League side Eastleigh, leaving in September 2015 after a highly successful spell which saw him lead them to the then-Conference South play-offs in his first season, the league title in his second season and then the Conference Premier play-offs in his third season, leaving The Spitfires with an impressive win rate of 62%.

Prior to Eastleigh, Richard had roles with many clubs including Stevenage, Derby County, Swindon Town, QPR and Aston Villa. He also played as a Midfielder in the 80’s for teams including Northampton Town, Watford and Oxford United.

Everyone at the club would like to welcome Richard to The Hawks!
