Alfie Rogers returns to Whitehawk

Shaun Saunders has added to his attacking department with the acquisition of clinical former Hawk, Alfie Rogers.

A product of Whitehawk’s youth setup, Rogers has been flourishing with SCFL side Newhaven, recording an impressive 28 goals this season for ‘The Dockers’ alone.

This succeeds last campaign’s tally of 29 goals in 43 matches, with the forward an omnipresent threat in front of goal with his electric pace and devastating finishing.

The 23-year-old had success with Whitehawk U18s alongside Joel Daly, swiftly becoming the most prolific goal scorer under Jude Macdonald, and it earned him a series of first XI appearances during the 2018/19 season that spawned a lone goal in a 2-0 win over Burgess Hill Town.

Perhaps remembered best for his surprise stint in goal at Hythe Town after James Broadbent was shown a red card, Rogers would make a series of saves to preserve a memorable 1-0 win.

Rogers arrives to bolster the Hawks’ attacking options and will slip straight into the squad ahead of our visit to Margate in the Velocity Cup tomorrow evening.
