Whitehawk FC 0 – 2 Peacehaven & Telscombe FC

A roasting hot afternoon and a friendly pre-season game against near neighbours and Sussex Champions Peacehaven. With the visitors fielding a number of ex Hawks and Whitehawk fielding a number of untried trialists … the hosts yielded a two goal lead to the visitors – before half time. (the 2nd goal coming from the penalty spot).

The second half Whitehawk lineup was more familiar and dominated the second period, again giving the cohesive display, that was on show earlier in the week, and dominating the game – without scoring, although a great long range searching attempt from Sam Deering was just tipped over by Di Bernadino in the Peacehaven goal. The visiting keeper making a similar save from a terrific worked shot from Jake Robinson for the hosts.

Ok and there could have been a penalty … but it’s pre-season and not about results … but you’d have to say that Peacehaven are a tight unit who have a good winning habit!

Good luck to our neighbours next season in the Ryman Premier.
