Notes to Editor
Vanarama is part of the Autorama group which was set up by founder and MD Andy Alderson in 2004 initially as a used vehicle dealership. Andy had previously worked in the Motor trade for 12 years in a variety of roles and
in senior positions. His strong track record in business to business sales and in particular B2B leasing meant that setting up the leasing side of his own business in early 2007 was an easy decision. Back then it was just him
and laptop as well as a part time admin person working out of a porta cabin. Just 7 years later, Vanarama is the largest commercial vehicle leasing broker in the UK. Following the decision by the business to take the position of the branded player in its; sector via the haunch of National TV & Radio campaign in August last year. The company is on track to take advantage of the strong demand from the construction sector and sell 5000 (£90m worth) of leased vehicles this year.
Vanarama now employ over 120 people including a network of nearly 50 territory based representatives. The cornerstones that Vanarama has built the business on, apart from very competitive pricing, are transparency, great service and a culture of market disruption. The sector Vanarama operates in is now governed by a very robust
regulatory regime in the shape of the FCA. Industry experts are predicting the broker network will reduce by 30-40%. That coupled with the fact that the construction sector is predicted to play a significant role in the
economic growth expected in the next few years, means that with the steps Vanarama have taken to build their brand they are well placed to achieve their objective of doubling their sales to 10,000 leased vehicles in 2015 or
in other words a finance turnover of £180M+.
