Whitehawk FC 5 – 1 Chelmsford City FC
Vanarama Conference South … Saturday 15th November 2014
Steve King the Hawks Manager: “Today we were unplayable!”
These two sides have met twice already this season, in the FA Cup and the resulting replay – those games produced 13 goals! Today looked to be be tighter affair after a first half which saw Whitehawk take the lead just before half time following a Jake Robinson low cross which had the ball ‘pinballing’ back and forward off Anthony Thompson in the Chelmsford goal and eventually going in off Danny Mills.
Whitehawk exploded in the second half with a high quality display of possession and passing. On 50 minutes Jake Robinson controlled a long ball over the top and hit the ball firmly across the keeper into the far corner. Sergio Torres was causing the visitors problems all afternoon with runs and clever through balls. In an action packed short period another 3 goals were scored: 72 minutes Danny Mills scored a spectacular goal with a flying kick to meet a smart cross from John-Paul Kissock, this following a remarkable 23 pass move.
Chelmsford immediately replied through Yado Mambo firing across the home keeper. Whitehawk responded straight away when Gerardo Blanco headed home firmly, from close range, from another incisive Whitehawk move, to make it 4-1.
Danny Mills completed his hat trick in the 81 minute with another fine goal, to complete a dominant performance by the home side.
scorers Whitehawk: Danny Mills: 38 mins, 72 mins, 81 mins, Jake Robinson: 50 mins, Gerardo Blanco: 75 mins
