Whitehawk secured their National League South status for next season after they beat fifth place Poole Town whilst Gosport could only draw at Concord Rangers.
Frankie Sutherland and Alex Osborn scored either side of half-time for the Hawks in a 2-0 win at the Enclosed Ground.
Andy Woodman’s side got off to the perfect start as they broke the deadlock just fourteen minutes in. Osborn did well to lay the ball off to Sutherland 20 yards out, and the midfielder picked his spot past Nick Hutchings and into the far corner.
Glen Southam then saw his shot blocked before Osborn fired the rebound straight at Hutchings, before Poole threatened to equalise before the break.
A loose ball fell to Steve Devlin twenty-five yards out, but the Poole midfielder’s fierce volley flew just wide.
Hutchings then prevented Poole from going further behind after the break after Danny Mills did well to turn a defender, but the keeper’s legs prevented the Hawks top scorer from doubling his side’s lead.
And the Hawks did go 2-0 up midway through the second half after Mills did well to dispossess a Poole defender being going through on goal, only to unselfishly squaring the ball across to Osborn who made no mistake from inside the area.
And after the full-time whistle the Hawks’ National League South status was confirmed as news filtered through that Gosport had drawn at Concord.
