Match Report

Bognor Regis Town 8-0 Whitehawk
Velocity Trophy: First Round

A much changed Hawks team succumb to a late Bognor flourish.

The Hawks started brightly, and on 23 minutes had the ball in the net as Rodrigues fired past Matthews, however the goal was disallowed for a foul.
The Rocks immediately ran down the other end and opened the scoring with a fine finish from Scutt.

Both sides created multiple chances in the remainder of the first half, with Rodrigues and Goode both coming close for the Hawks, 1-0 at the half with all to play for in the second.

The Hawks started brightly as Cooklin found space straight from kickoff and curls his effort just wide of the far post.

The end to end football continued as this time Lethbridge beats the offside and is first to a long hopeful ball over the top, he’s able to cross to find the head of Scutt who makes no mistake from point blank range.

Now leading 2-0, the Rocks introduce Whyte and Muitt into the game, and some impact they both had.
Something off the training ground as the Rocks have a corner, Tuck finds space 20 yards out, he’s fed the ball, shifts onto his left and curls an effort into the top corner.

Minutes later and Muitt extends the Rocks lead with a fine left-foot finish, before grabbing his second just a minute after as Whyte squares to him when through on goal for a simple tap in.

Whyte himself then got in on the act as he fires a thunderbolt into the top corner from distance to make it 6-0 and score the 4th in just 6 minutes.

Muitt completed his hat-trick on 74 minutes as he once again finds himself in space in the Hawks area and fires past Hawkins.

79 minutes and the rout is complete, Muitt again finding space and is clinical as ever to bag his 4th goal from 4 shots.

The final 10 minuntes are played out with little action to talk of, except off the field as the travelling fans continue to sing their hearts out despite being 8-0.
