Whitehawk FC are delighted to confirm the signing of Lloyd Macklin.
The striker, 28, joins from Metropolitan Police of the Bostik Premier, where he has been prolific this season.
With 20 goals in 32 games over all competitions for the Imber Court outfit, boss Steve King believes the former Swindon Town and Torquay United forward will add pace to his attack.
“He has proven to have pace and power up front,” said the Hawks boss.
“Lloyd’s pace up front is lightning and that’s what I have been looking for.
“He offers us something different in that he can get in behind teams with his pace, whereas the forwards we have are all good with the ball played into their feet.
“Elliot (Benyon) can get in behind teams at times but I see Lloyd playing off his strike-partner and stretching teams.”
Macklin will team up with former Torquay team-mate Benyon in the Hawks attack, and is available for tomorrow’s match at Chelmsford should it beat the weather.
Should the match be postponed, plans for a friendly game will be announced.
