East Thurrock United avenged their FA Cup defeat against Whitehawk earlier in the season by beating the Hawks at the Enclosed Ground.
A disappointing first half performance from Whitehawk saw the visitors go 3-0 up before the half hour mark, and despite a spirited comeback, United left with all three points courtesy of a 3-2 win.
The visitors got off to a dream start, with Sam Higgins finishing off some neat build-up play down the right to give his side the lead just four minutes in.
Joe Gardner then doubled the lead for John Coventry’s side on the 15 minute mark, running on to a low through ball before taking it around Adri Munoz and firing in.
Christian Assombalonga then threatened for the hosts, with Lukas Lidakevicius making a good save from his curling effort, before things got from bad to worse for Whitehawk.
After Chris M’Boungou hauled down Gardner, Tom Wright fired the resulting free kick under the jumping wall, giving Munoz no chance to make it 3-0.
The Hawks needed a response, and they got one before the break when Ahmed Abdulla found the far corner with a low drive.
A defensive lapse gave Whitehawk hope of getting something from the game, with the back four switching off as a long ball was intended for the offside Assombalonga, but Danny Mills pounced on the loose ball to finish for his eighth goal of the season.
Then in added time, Lidakevicius denied the Hawks a point when he saved from Paul Reid as the visitors held on to win three points.
