Hey Bye Jude!

Whitehawk U18 manager, Jude Macdonald, has stepped down from his role with the youth team now that the season has come to a close.

Macdonald had been in charge since 2013/14 when the young Hawks suffered a completely winless season, finishing bottom of the Isthmian South Division on just 3 points. Since then, they have gone from strength to strength with numerous accolades along the way. Hawks went unbeaten in the league between November 2015-January 2017 and completed a historic treble of Sussex County Cup, Isthmian League Cup and Isthmian South League in 2016/17. This season they have regained the Isthmian South Division title – losing just once – and have won the Isthmian Champion of Champions title, beating East and Central Division Champions, Maidstone United and Woking.

Lucas Rodrigues, Jordan Hawkins, Fintan Walsh, Lewis Broughton and Robert Deda have all progressed through to represent the first team in the past three seasons.

Assistant Manager, Matthew Elphick (Sheep) and Coach, George Coltherd-Walls, will also be leaving the youth set up. Sam Piper, who has been part of the first team support staff this season, will step down from youth team responsibilities.

The Hawks would like to place on record their thanks to Jude and all his staff over the course of the past five seasons.

A new manager will be announced in due course.
